Izel: “Unique” or “Only One,” from Nahuatl
From El Sendero de los Recuerdos, a hidden path that appears near El Camposanto only on Día de Muertos, comes Izel, a joyful spirit with marigold eyes and a sage-green rebozo. Butterflies are drawn to her calm, resting on her dress and in her hand.
She carries no duty, only peace: a reminder that remembrance, when given with love, never fades.
